Basic Analysis on Armor effects

I made some simple JavaScript program that outputs the average damage suffered from given condition.






What I figured out is, RESISTANCE is significantly important than protection itself; you cannot underestimate them.

Against early enemies that deals bullet/sharpnel attacks, GREEN ARMOR is slightly better than BLUE ARMOR (but worse than red armor)
Against enemies that deals plasma attacks, BLUE ARMOR is slightly better than plain RED ARMOR (and almost give equal protection with P-modded red armor!)



Also, you can benefit from ballistic/fireproof assemblies very much, if the basic armor already have some resistance on balllistic attacks or fire attacks.

Very nice.

For the shotgun enemies though, I think you'll find that the shotgun damage dropoff will probably skew results towards the fixed protection of the blue armor at say >3 tiles. That's just a guess though. You have the calculator :)

vs Baron of hell

Red armor (P) : 6.1
Cybernano energy-shielded vest(P) : 1.02

Cerberus duelist armor(P) : 1.4


vs Apostle

Berserker Armor : 8~14
(as Berserker Armor give additional protection value if your health is low)





In conclusion,



1. Cybernano energy-shielded vest (P)  is the ultimate armor for fire/plasma/acid attacks,
but the biggest drawback is that you can't take off it, and it is not so reliable for melee hard hitters (like nightmare demon).


2. Shielded Armor is perfect gear for melee/bullet/sharpnel attacks,
but Duelist armor(P) or ballistic duelist armor(P) can be good alternative.


3. Red armor(P) is overrated. Use fireproof red armor for late swarm of mancubi/revenants/archviles.
Against shambler, even plain blue armor is better than Red armor(P).
Against former commando, red armor(P) is slightly better than blue armor, but there isn't big difference.


4. On cerberus ballistic vest/duelist armor, I recommend to use power mod instead of onyx mod.
Since it has 0 protection, it is not enough.
