What happened here? Teleporter death

Hey, I'm running version 0.987 for Windows on XP.

I read the sticky where the creator mentioned the (rare) possibility of a teleporter sending you to its own location, resulting in an infinite loop, but it said this would be fixed in the next version (and the topic was last edited well before the latest version came out, so I presume it's fixed.

In that case, what exactly happened here?


 Nic, level 4 Former Human Corporal, killed by something...
 on level 7 of the Phobos base.
 He survived 27437 turns and scored 20812 points.
 He wasn't afraid to be hurt plenty.

 He killed 107 out of 119 hellspawn. (90%)

 He stormed the Chained Court.
 He fought on Hell's Arena.
 He became a champion of Hell's Arena!

I just stepped onto the teleporter, and that happened. Could someone explain it please, if it's not a bug?

Well, my explanation is simple: I've noticed a couple occasions where it seemed like going through a teleporter drained my health (but I have no records and my playing has been reduced to 0 by things most certainly not named Dwarf Fortress, IVAN, and God of War II), and you've already mentioned the infinite teleport bug.  Thus, I believe those two issues conspired and combined together in one nasty character-destroying event.

P.S.: Kornel's made a great game here, but he's not infallible. :/ Recently it was discovered that Son of a Bitch and Son of a Gun didn't give bonus damage like they were supposed to (though that's been corrected in the beta).  So, it *might* not actually have been fixed yet.  Best to see what the man who actually can pore over the code has to say.
