I tried to set 2 Nukes together once too, however I got some "Are you crazy?" message or something.
Aki:
I got a Nuclear Plasma Rifle and a thermie on that AoPu run.
If you want I can post the mortem.

I edited, I believe you, however the game has rejected the 2nd nuke on me before.
Aki:
I think it's due to one being a Nuclear Plasma Rifle, not an actual nuke ;)
