I'm a huge shotgun fanboy, and even use them in DoomRL. I hope at the very least that Kornal will change the 8x shell stacks to 30x stacks and make them spawn more often once you no longer have sergeants around. 4 shots of a Double Shotty doesn't get you very far at level 2X, especially when you only get one or two of those per level. :-P
