Speed mod would have to add damage, because it can't increase the speed you're waving the weapon around. Instead, it will increase the speed of the chain, for better damage. Damage mod, then again, will add armor piercing.

Nothing. Magazine mod already isn't compatible with every weapon.

I want to mod my knife.

I would put a laser sight and an underslung grenade launcher on it.

No wait, that's stupid.

Maybe I could just affix a bayonet to it. Yeah, that'd work. A knife with a bayonet.

I just don't see a reason: for what you need to mod it? Not to leave all that mods behind? Chainsaw is already quite powerful. But ok, people, what do you think about it? If most of you wants this one to be implemented, i will add this to tasks.

I'll take this up.

Technically speaking, better chain (made of a different material) would help it to cut better, resulting in a damage bonus. Therefore, everytime you used a damage mod on it, it's the equivalent of putting a better chain on it, until you're using a +3 chain. Better oil would make it run faster, or a lighter engine could reduce overall weight and let you move it faster (resulting in speed increases). Magazine and Reload mods would not be useful, and I am not endorsing them at this time. :)

Is there any trait, that can increase the place for mods in weapons? I'm going to make a double shotgun with 3 damage mods and 1 speed mod. As for me ( i play this game for my second time ) - CRAZY!
