-- General ---------------------------------------------------

Before him 22 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 19 of those were killed.
1 of those was killed by something unknown.
And 2 couldn't handle the stress and commited a stupid suicide.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I got THIS close to taking him down. I got in 3 full BFG blasts before I was forced to switch to the double shotgun. He was in the "mortally wounded" state and if I had switched to the chaingun instead of the double shotgun I might have been able to do it because the reloads were what got me, I think.

I also had the (ill) luck of encountering only 3 commanders, so my plasma cells had been skimpy throughout, and I used all my rockets to kill bigger baddies, and I ended up having to double shotgun some of them as well. I ran into captains as far down as level 18, which explains the glut of 10mm ammo. I also ran into very little good armor; no red and two blue suits was the extent of my protection, not counting the greens.

Oh well. I'll take him down sooner or later.

My God, so close but yet so far :-(. This is the first mortem I see that someone died on the Arena :-/

Almafeta:
I guess, you either get him, or don't get to him.

Turgor:
Oh man that's my worst fear whenever i enter the arena! that somehow that cyberdemon may kill me!

anyway, a chaingun probably wouldn't have helped, as it hardly does any damage to a cyberdemon.. but i see you still had phase devices and a thermie! how could you forget those? ;P

Alfonso the Great:
I'd used a phase device to try to get a bit of space between the two of us (I was trapped in the middle of the lefthand wall), but all it did was jump me a little to the northeast, at which point he planted another rocket in me for the kill.

I suppose I could have used the thermie, but I was hyped up because this was the first time I'd actually reached him and I honestly forgot about using it. The fact that he was mortally wounded just fueled my hubris at wanting to take him down without offing myself in the process.
