I was trying to check if this was posted, but found nothing

When you kill a baddie and he drops the loot on lava/acid tile, the tile only shows the item and not the hazard below. When the tile is out of your LOS the item is no longer tracked and you see the hazard again.

My request would be to add a second descriptive sentence in [l]ook mode for such tile, e.g.: "You see: a pistol [6/6]. You see: lava.".

I'd take this one step further and request that there be some kind of visual way of seeing if the item is on acid/lava. I have no suggestions for what this would be, however.

Perhaps the lava, water, etc could be represented using the background color for the tile, instead of as a foreground character?

I think that JUST the background being colored would be lame if there were nothing in the foreground (no other item to display). Maybe it would still show the foreground char if there was nothing else on the square and the background would be a lighter shade

Well, I also think that acid/lava must destroy items, so...
