Before him 16 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
12 of those were killed.
2 of those were killed by something unknown.
And 1 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.
Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 1 souls claim to have killed him...
1 killed the bastard and survived.

I've never really bothered with challenge games before. I tried AoB and AoMr a few times back in 0.9.8.5, but that's about it. The new challenges look like fun though, so I thought I'd see if I can't unlock some of them.
This was my second attempt at AoI. My first one failed on Level 15, because I stupidly tried taking on the City of Skulls. This round, I didn't do any challenges that were harder than normal levels, and it payed off by giving me exactly zero challenge throughout the game. I also used the chain weapon line instead of the shotgun line, since the chain weapon series is much better no matter how much I love the style of the SGs.
I never dipped below 40% health in the entire game, excepting for a level 15, in which I ran into a seemingly invincible Baron of Hell- Normally, they die in 2 or 3 bursts of a chaingun with SoaB3 (As opposed to 5 or 6 shots at close range from a Double Shotgun with Shottyman. >_>) But this one kept soaking up damage like nothing. I emptied an entire chaingun- 10 bursts- into the fucker, and he just kept on firing plasma balls at me as if I was throwing rice. After I reloaded the chaingun and desperately fired another 3 or 4 bursts, he finally keeled over with myself having gone from 100% health to 22%. Examining his dropped objects revealed the cause of the phenomenon: "Gothic Armor [7/7] (139%)". Bitch used up 61% of my armor! >:-[
After that, I grabbed a large medpack that was 5 spaces away from where we were fighting, and put the gothic armor in my backpack before continuing on my way. After that I had absolutely no problems, and was able to patch up the armor by taking it out whenever I saw an armor shard. By level 19, I had it back on 200% and put it on. That thing is just unfair- I got in a fight with an Arch-Vile, and his fire attack was doing no more than ~5% damage at a time- and I had 60HP. The Cyberdemon was really easy as always, I took it out in 4 shots of the BFG9000.
The sheer lack of difficulty surprise me in this challenge, as I expected having noon-demand medpacks would make this really difficult and intense. Definitely not the case however. IMO, even without the Gothic Armor, AoI on Medium in this version is significantly easier than non-challange Easy difficulty in 0.9.8.5 (Which is the only other version I'm willing to play, since 0.9.8.7 was unbearably glitchy and .8 was ridiculously unbalanced.) Kornel might want to look into that.
At any rate, I'm probably try for AoB or AoMr before doing AoLt for the level-up. (Angel of Darkness? What Angel of Darkness?)
