Monsters at the edge of cateye vision aren't automatically selected

Picklish:
With Cateye (2?), monsters that appear at the edge of your LOS are visible, but hitting the fire key will not automatically choose them.

Daqin:
Yea, I've noticed the same thing. Always have to retarget.
