Use of full ASCII table, background colors

DoomRL is fine the way it is. I'd rather Kornel focused on what he is doing now (which presumably is not this) than screw around with a pointless feature.

First of all you don't know if most or how many viewers would enjoy porn version. However, if Leonardo was painting Mona Lisa's all the time, making dozens, then anyone who would get such a painting could do whatever he liked with it, even little conversion with his own brushes to look Monalisa as he wished. Leonardo could prevent that by making surface of paintings not paintable (in theory). But then, there would question appear : "why would he like to do such thing ?". And another question follows: "why, what is he painting for then, if he cares about that?". And that could change what people actually think of Leonardo, after little investigation, because of conclussion they are not that sure anymore about the purpose of this painting. Having changed picture of the author they could also look at Mona Lisa in different way now.

What you think of DoomRL is just your opinion, isn't it ? If it is fine to you then ok. Some people, however, would like to change the look.
Why you call something pointless if there are already people who care about it, say, author of the post ? Is it because it is useless to you ?

Third: Comparing Mona Lisa porn to DoomRL in full ASCII with a background colour apart from black...Just don't.

Why yes, I do find it pointless. It offers nothing for the gameplay, takes up valuable development time and once again, what the hell is the point? The tiles we have right now work PERFECTLY. There is no reason to have my marine looking like ? or having ? for walls and ? for stairs. Hell, we don't need B shaped Barons when we have the almighty ? that will blow up barrels shaped like ?.
