They tried to flank me!

I think it's commonly known that DoomRL has a pretty stupid AI code (Sorry Kornel) but definately not this time! I was just trying to own 4 Arachnotrons my my RL from pretty far, I had Intuition*3 so I could constantly "track" their position. The situation was sorta like this (hand made screenshot):

...Until suddenly 1 of them stayed in position, probably for surpressive fire, and the rest went like this:

Then those frickin' smart arachno's reached that door, and of course I still had the rocket launcher in my hands and I had no plasma rifle yet so as they were only 2 spaces away the rocket launcher would be a stupid idea... yep, now they really got me pinned...

You could almost see them thinking "Checkmate, buddy!" but then I finally managed to kill the surpressing arachno while I was taking heavy fire from the rest and then, while keeping them away with my shotty, I ran East for some cover and to clear some space for my RL.

Their plan had failed. But I must confess they almost got me!

Yeah, DoomRL will always keep surprising me =)

Uh. Can Arachnotrons open doors? Should have just closed the door. I don't think they can, but I've never encountered an arachnotron on the other side of a door that I can think of.

Not sure, but I think they can open a door. Go to hell's armoury and wait at the arachnotron rooms. See if they manage to open the door.
