Well, this was an exciting run. Damn that one lava pit place, though... If I had avoided it, I might have actually been an ass-kicking marine. But, now is not the time to dwell on that. So, I'm clearing out the last level before cybie, and lo and behold! There's an invincibility globe near the exit. Wisely, I take it and head on down, BFG prepped and ready for action.

So, first thing, I have to charge ahead to where Cybie was, and he shot me with a missile. I shot him with my BFG once, scratching him, then I found out I didn't have enough to reload the BFG. Therefore, I switched to my plasma rifle, blasted him a couple of times, ran out of ammo for that and switched to the rocket launcher. I blasted away at him some more, and then I ran out of rockets because I tried earlier to blast my foes in the lava pit without crossing it. It didn't work. Anyway, I pulled out my chaingun (I lost the assault shotgun somehow) and began blasting away at his severely injured self. He kept hammering me with rockets, but my invincibility held out just long enough for me to get one last volley of chaingun fire in and kill him.

This was the first victory I ever had and I feel damn good about myself for actually winning. The reason he's named Righto was 'cause I thought he was gonna die anyway, so why bother giving him a good name? And excuse the format of the post-mortem, but I couldn't figure out how to get one of them better looking posts that everyone else seems to know how to use.

EDIT: Wowzas, thanks for the advice on the formatting and against Cybie.. The tips will be useful for my next battle against 'im.

9 out of 10 marines I play wish they could be that lucky.

A poor idea. Rapidfire weapons hardly dent the cyberdemon's armor. You'd be better off giving him the rockets first.

With 3 levels of Son of a Bitch, at least 2 levels of Eagle Eye, a few levels of Finesse and a plasma gun with 3 damage mods--in other words, a character kitted out to use rapidfire weapons--you can kill the Cyberdemon about as easily as with a BFG.
