You have to beat mission 5.10 on HARDCORE (personally last time I played Hardcore Quest I got stuk on 3.1 IIRC ^^" )

PS. Yesterday I nearly got to 1 mln points for the first time (If I only took Death clock instead Breathing Room)

I'm stuck somewhere on mission 1.2...

That said, I havent played it for bloodey ages.

Hardcore isn't even half as evil as survival after ~400k points.
