Crash due to access violation

<< < (3/4) > >>

skarczew:
The desktop is ok for me as well. I thought you put it into Program Files - in that case it could cause problems (by default the application cannot modify files inside folder there).

The last ideas I have:
- antivirus or other wicked third party application that affects game;
- maybe computer was put into sleep/hibernate status too many times; I had some problems with it - hibernating crashed my DoomRL at least once; try rebooting computer and running game afterwards;

Aoihakumei:
I don't run anti-virus software, I do all my virus deletion manually. I have restarted before to see if that would work and it didn't. I suppose it could be some other third party software that somehow effects it but I am unsure what could possibly be doing that since most third party apps are games. Unless perhaps visual studio would somehow effect it. But then wouldn't AliensRL be having problems? I have no problems whatsoever with AliensRL and as far as I can tell it uses the same engine as DoomRL with a slightly different display setup.

Kornel Kisielewicz:
There's one difference - Lua... :/

Also DoomRL uses smpeg while Aliens uses libOGG. Try the next version based on OpenAL. Did you try playing without music and sounds.

Aoihakumei:
I played with sounds and music. I will try without.

When is the next version to be released?

Kornel Kisielewicz:
This is *the* question :P
