Does SoaB give 1 or 3 extra damage when shooting a double shotty?

EDIT: Woah, just noticed this was General-> Discussion instead of DoomRL-> Discussion. Sorry about that.

It's +1 per damage roll per level. However, since the shotgun data operates very differently from everything else, I can't figure out if the doubleshotty is damage roll times three or if it's three separate damage rolls.
