Machine Spirit PBF- character creation topic

<< < (4/17) > >>

Gargulec:
Malek- if you want rolling badly, then roll. But if you end up with ass, not character, it will be only your fault;p!

Generic:
Also, do we still use XP to increase skills, talents, traits, and crap like that? And if not, what do we do with that extra 400 xp?
Yes, I know, this is annoying, but I'm naturally going to ask all these questions. I'll probably get the hang of it in a week ;P

Malek Deneith:
I'll take the chance. Emperor protects.

Let's see... Imperial World for multitude of options, rolls:
Stats, in order (2d10=13, 2d10=16, 2d10=12, 2d10=19, 2d10=14, 2d10=7, 2d10=16, 2d10=10, 2d10=15)

Which gives me:

WP 30
Fel 35
All in all I have nothing to complain about except intellect. Using one re-roll as allowed by normal generation rules for that: Int, re-roll (2d10=20)

...okay, that was unexpected. That gives me final stats of:

Rest of character generation will be eddited into this post later (or posted in other posts dunno), once I finish more important stuff. With BS of 36 Cleric idea lies in dirt in favor of either Assassin or marksman wannabe Guardsman.

Edit: Those rolls are a bit worrying to be honest, unless I miscalculated I got equivalent of 135 points X.x
Edit2: Seeing as 70 points means having roughly 7.5 points per stat, or 27 in stat on average I would consider upping the points for others.

Edit3: After some thoughts, assassin it is. That gives me:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)Skills:
-Speak Language (Low Gothic) [Int]
-Awarness [Per]
-Dodge [Ag]

Starting Talents:
-Melee Weapon Training (Primitive)
-Unremarkable
-Pistol Training (Las)
-Basic Weapon Training (SP)
-Pistol Training (SP)

Starting Gear:
-Hunting Rifle and 16 rounds
-Sword
-Knife
-Compact Las Pistol and 1 charge pack
-3 doses of stimm
-charm (corpse hair)

Starting Rank: Sell-Steel
Also forgot about homeworld stuff:
-Blessed Ignorance {meh}
-Hagiography - Common Lore (Imperial Creed) [Int], Common Lore (Imperium) [Int], Common Lore (War) [Int] as basic skills {not shockingly usefull, but still}
-Liturgical Familiarity - Literacy [Int] and Speak Language (High Gothic) [Int] as basic skills {I know how to speak, amazing}
-Superior Origins {+3 WP, will do}

Some more rolling - Wounds, Fate Points, Thrones (1d5, 1d10, 3d10=[4], [10], [7, 8, 9]) - leaves me with 12 wounds, 3 fate points and 444 thrones (this includes that bonus 300)

My starting 400xp will go towards:
-Simple Ballistic Skill Advance (100xp)
-Simple Agility Skill Advance (100xp)
-Catfall (100xp)
-Silent Move [Ag] (100xp)

Leaving shopping until I get some more info on what we can buy, and thus I'm left with:
Buying:
-Mesh Combat Cloak (350 thrones)
-Pump-Action Shotgun (75 thrones)
-Extra Charge Pack (Pistol) (10 Thrones)
-Extra 20 Bullets (1 Throne)
-20 Shells (1 Throne)

...which leaves me at 7 thrones... yikes.

Stay with cleric! Stay with true confessor!
:D

Malek Deneith:
To be honest I'm not sure if I would be able to pull off a convincing cleric. Also regarding my Edit1 and Edit2 to stat-rolling post I did some very basic maths and I came up with this:
-we have 9 stats
-each stat has 2d10 roll, 11 on average
-thus the expected "sum" of rolls on which most of the game math is probably based is around 99
-considering this I would up the points of point-buyers to 100-110 give or take, or they will end up quite low-powered to typical stat-roll (not counting exceedingly lucky rolls as that one I presented above)
