Reward for the Hell Arena on AoMr is...

I'm not really feeling this. The reason is pretty much the same one which always comes up in topics like these: challenge games are supposed to be a challenge, limiting your normal gameplay somewhat. Giving too many bonuses for challenge games and changing levels and such doesn't make it a challenge anymore, but a wholly different game "mode" if you will. Which is fine if that's what you want but then it should be a different menu option for these game "modes" and not challenge games. Besides, AoMr is already probably the easiest challenge game.
Also there shouldn't be much of a reward for higher difficulty. Kind of like if an rpg game gives you more xp for kills on higher difficulty. Then your chars level up more balancing out the increased difficulty. So it's not that difficult anymore. The reward for higher difficulty should be that you're more of a badass for beating the game on higher difficulty.

In the current beta build, Hell Arena does, in fact, offer special rewards on AoMr, AoB and AoSg.

I agree with Jarkko. A challenge mode like AoMr is supposed to be more challenging than the normal game, not a quick level-building experience that makes the rest of the gameplay easier.
You play on higher difficulty levels because the easier levels are too easy, not because you get better rewards which actually make the rest of the game less difficult. PC Doom E1M1 suffers this issue, it's actually easier on UV because you get the shotgun sooner than any other difficulty level. Game balance fail.
FFS two Adv Pistols on AoMr would make one deadly player. Throw on a couple of D/M mods and you could do a UV run with your eyes closed.
