- You know Doc, she has a point - keep such comments to yourself. - Hagazi finally stopped staring at the massacre and intervened - I know that such... such *things* happen, hell I saw my share of them... - there was a pause as if lieutenant was remembering something he rather wouldn't - ...but while this massacre isn't exactly unexpected considering beasts that are running around, this is *not* a laughing matter. And I don't think Mr Smith needs additional trauma added by your comments either Doc.

Shioban panted for a while, listening to Hagezi speaking and nodding.

'Let us linger no longer, then' she said, not giving Doc time to respond. 'Let's get what we are here for.'

"Got it, boss. Not meant to piss anybody off.", the Doc smirked, then walked upstairs.

Taking the stairs was rather slow going, and it made sure you had the chance to become intimately acquainted with the smell of the place. The scenery on the upper levels didn't change much, really - the same carnage, blood and chunks of flesh strewn around, plenty of corpses. For a moment, you saw one of the creatures lurking around among the dead, but it fled before you could take action.

On the second level up from where you entered, Bob peeled off to the side from the stairs. "I just... going to get some stuff from my quarters, all right? Wait up a few moments," he requests.

'I'll make sure nothing bites of his head, ok?' said Shioban, following Bob.

"I just hope that this there creature won't bring his friends along.", sneered Doc. "Hurry up, just in case."

Bob had, however, closed the door right after himself, and was rather unresponsive to calls on the intercom by the door. Minutes passed...

...

...and some minutes later, the door opened. Bob had apparently spent that time changing into fresh clothes, washed up just a touch, and had picked up a sizeable backpack which was now hanging off one shoulder, looking considerably less than full.

"Right. Where to now?" he asked with a quiet sigh, looking at the soldiers.

'Well, we were supposed to find something here, were not we?' answered Shioban, shrugging.

Bob shook his head with a quiet sigh. "I told you, I don't know where the admin's suite is. There's some five hundred people were living here, you know? If you want to do a room-by-room sweep, it's going to take long, and it won't be pretty either by my bet," the man explained as you climbed higher and higher up the tower. It seemed that the structure got more narrow the higher you got, as the central plaza got progressively smaller with each floor. At the top floor, the plaza was more like a little square, with a large skylight above it. The sky you could see through it was inky black - apparently night had fallen outside.

"Well, if you want to search room by room, might as well start at the top," Bob said.

- Well that's just all ffff... antastic - Hagazi commented - Sadly, unless someone has a better idea we'll have to do that the hard way, and hope we find either admin's quarters or something that will allow us to narrow down the search area. We probably should have one or two persons on a look out in cease these critters come again, while the others search.

Shioban gave Hagezi an apathetic nod.
'I'll watch you while you search' she replied quietly.

"Better the known corpses out here than more new corpses in the quarters," Bob said with a shrug. "I'd rather keep watch out here, if it's all the same to you."

"Settled.", agreed Doc, joining Hagezi in the researching.

Seeing Hagezi and Doc starting the search, Shioban turned towards Bob. She looked very, very stressed and pale. In her hand, she tightly held some sort of PDA. Apparently, she picked it up from the corpses.

'So' she said, trying to sound relaxed. 'How did you get this gun of yours? It does not look like standard issue, as far as I can tell...'

"And you'd know all about standard issue, being here for less than a day," Bob muttered, while trying hard not to look at any of the corpses too closely. "It's actually a family heirloom. Dad used to be in the industrial espionage business," he added by way of explanation.

Meanwhile, the search went rather slowly. It was a good thing the terminals by the doors listed the occupants' rank and station as well as their names. You passed the offices of the chief of security, chief medical officer, chief engineer, and quartermaster... all locked, too. Finally you found a suite whose occupants were listed:

Thomas Deneval
Colony Administrator
Marie Deneval
Data Processing L3

The door itself, however, was also locked.
