The door was fitted with an electronic lock, but with main power down, it appeared to be inactive. At any rate, all it took was a light tug on the handle to get the door to slide smoothly out of the way.
The corridor beyond it was quite wide - maybe some 6 metres - and as a result of its width, most of it was shrouded in darkness, only the walls could be made out thanks to the emergency lighting. Directly to the left of the maintenance door the corridor leads off to a rather massive bulkhead door - thankfully, this one is open, and leading further on into what looks like an enclosed bridge. To the right, the corridor leads off, before splitting up in two some few hundred metres further. Here and there, closed doors can be seen, marked out by the red emergency lighting. Granted, most of the floor can't be seen for lack of light, but from what you can see, it looks quite litter-, corpse-, and shadowy shape-free.
