Sound crash (0.9.9)
ParaSait:
OK, this is actually my first DoomRL 0.9.9 game and... it crashed. D'oh.
I'll try to reconstruct what exactly happened:
1) Before I ran 0.9.9 the first time, I set up Malek's Doom 3 sound pack first.
2) Played the game, everything went fine.
3) Found an Assault Shotgun and a Jackhammer, and I saw someone reported a similar bug with the Blaster; So purely informative: I found a Blaster too.
4) Decided to continue later this day, so I saved.
5) Later this day, continued my game, but oddly if I fired my shotguns, they made that sound you get if you pick up a full armor in Doom 3 (I dunno exactly what it is technically, ask Malek). I think there were also some other wrong sound bindings.
6) Saved, restarted the game, but same result.
7) Saved again, this time I tried switching to the original sound pack.
8) Continued my game, and finally when I was about to give my first buckshot to a revenant... *CRASH*. The screen I got is attached to this post.

Did you touch ANYTHING in the sound.ini after saving (4) but before loading (5)? For example added the LS/AA soundbinds I've gave you later? If so then that's probably the reason for wierd sounds - game seems to save some sort of reference to soundbinds and messing with the sound.ini messes up sounds ingame. It probably could have resulted in a crash too
If thats not that then I'm clueless - I've been playing with these soundbinds for *ages* and never had a problem with stuff I've set up. (and for the record - in the version I've gave you there aren't any soundbinds to unique itesm other than said LS/AA, so there should only be fire sound which defaults to base-weapon sound)

Whoops. Yea, I adjusted those archvile sounds after I saved the first time. I guess that's the rotten apple :)
BTW: The sound I got was items/vest_pickup.ogg, which is armor.pickup in the ini.
Malek Deneith:
Then that's probably that - unless problems occur again there is nothing to worry about.
And yeah, messing with the sound.ini after saving can produce straaaange results - the time I found that out I had cacodemon blast sound for reload of some weapon IIRC :D
ParaSait:
Heh :D
Now I just hope I didn't screw anything up (except my first game), such as stuff in the player.wad?
