I really like that new version, it did a lot of much-needed balancing, improved previously underpowered traits (Badass) etc.
Started with an undecided build and went for TaN, later specialized on shotgun for no specific reason. In lvl8 I hit a switch that flooded the entire level with Lava and was only saved because I'd found an envirosuit earlier. Started hoarding Plasma cells and got the BFG from the HoC to prepare for the final fight.
lvl23 presented me with a pack of mancubi that almost finished me off because I didn't want to waste valuable plasma cells on them. On 24 I was lucky to find an inv globe to go with my nuke that meant the way was clear for trying a full win.
Final fight was a close thing, I fired all BFG ammo into the mass of barons but many shots were simply aimed to the middle and smashed into the back wall. When I first saw JC he was already "mortally wounded" but I was out of cells and had to fall back on my combat shotgun. Three more shots or so from that finished him off, but I don't think I'd have survived much longer. Was really fun, so again thanks for the new version :D
