Would it be considered cheating if I....

AStranger:
Wrote a terminal for DoomRL that remembered where globes were after the player saw them and continued to display them until they were determined gone? I find one of the hardest things while playing can be remembering if and where I saw a globe. I think it technically isn't cheating because it's only using information (past and present) that was already given to the user, but sometimes I can go a little too far.

It's worth noting that the terminal is already written. It doesn't implement the entire VT spec, but enough of it to display DoomRL almost correctly. I still need to find exactly what characters are in the DEC Special Character and Line Drawing Set and their UTF-8 values, so there are a few things that display with the wrong symbol. The 'remember globe' feature hasn't been written, but I'm thinking about it. If you are wondering why I wrote it, it's because I wanted to resize the window.

ParaSait:
Personally I don't think it's cheating. I mean, you could as well just take a sheet of paper and draw every new tile on that; it IS fair, I can imagine some (really patient) roguelike players even do that.
Be careful, though, to not spoil your own fun.

Grim:
Well if you can't remember if you saw a globe or not I'd say that you need to lay off the drugs. I have a short memory but heck it's not like they are tough to see or anything like that.

Nail, head, you got it.

ParaSait:
Well, I wouldn't say that actually... I mean it's not the first time for me either I forgot a supercharge I spared for the end of the level.
