Near-instant death on level start

I really dont care if anyone claims its a feature, because the situation is almost retarded. The player should NOT, EVER, spawn in a room with a dozen lost souls. Especially if its the second level.

Are you serious ? Have you actually TRIED doing that ? What, you may get two or three at most ?

Died before the player could even move.

It seems 40 turns (4 in-game seconds) pass when you descend a floor.  Most monsters are frozen for perhaps 10 (?) in-game seconds, so the player has 6 seconds free to fire or run, but lost souls move right away (?) so get 4 seconds worth of time to move towards and attack the player right away.

If a large number of lost souls spawn close to you early in the game, there's not much you can do about it.  Kind of similar to a pain elemental cave later on if you are fortunate to be equipped to fight or escape it, if you aren't - game over, time to start over.
