I'll say right off that I was originally going to edit this mortem a bit to block out things from the beta so that it isn't too spoiler heavy, but I see a lot of the more mechanical stuff has already been released by others in theirs. I will, however, keep the wraps on one new feature... =)

Anyway, I finally beat the damn Ao100 challenge! I had a few previous attempts where I died on the 90th levels, but persistence paid off. I originally had a plasma rifle with two Accuracy mods and two Damage mods on it, but I found two Firestorm modifications one after another and had to then wait nine levels before another plasma rifle came around for me to mod. From there, I dropped both Firestorm mods and two Accuracy mods on, and nothing stood a chance. It seemed like I was playing Angel of Max Carnage.

I didn't hit too many unique exotic items, but the ones I did sure came in handy. The Onyx Armor is a favorite, even more now that it can be modified. I found a Railgun on level 90 (my second ever, the other being in an Ao100 that ended on level 32), and it replaced the rocket launcer I'd kept on hand until then for knocking out pesky walls.

All in all, I love the new features, and felt it made things a lot more interesting trying to make it through all 100 levels. Now onward to two more gold medals or another few dozen Viles so I can rank up again =)

What exactly is the difference between exotic and uniques? The former can be modded, the latter can't?

Exotics are also found a lot more often than Uniques. but Uniques can't be destroyed now.

I was originally going to call them "mystery monsters", and two other clever types, but I'm not creative enough. I guess I could've just called them blankety blanks?

Quite honestly, I feel the mechanics changes are far more important, and I considered not even posting the mortem until after the new version was released, but then I realized it had already been done for the most part.
