Can't move in The Lava Pits

Play version 0.999-win on windows XP
I was in "The Lava Pits" and there I try to move, but I can't and got the massage "You can't".There was no chance (except rocket jump) to move in any direction.

I think it is a bug, but i am not sure.

Did this happen as soon as you entered, or sometime afterwards?

It happens somtime afterwards.
Maybe 3 movements and 2 kills after entering.

And I was still on the starting island, not in the Lava.

Strange... have you died/quit, or are you still going?

As an afterthought, I'm thinking the Gothic Set might be behind this..

Yes, strange.

I try some Rocketjumps. After some time I stand near a wall and there I could't jump.
So I use a thermonuclearbomb :)  (I killed all the bastards)

I had the Gothik Boots in my inventar.
Maybe I first worn them and put them off later, but I put them off and couldn't move anyway.
I also remove my armor...

Ah wasn't there this feature where you can't move if you have the complete Gothic set or something..? I dunno why it would occur if you only have the boots tho'...

EDIT: Whoops, I skipped over UnderAPaleGreySky's edit :p So yea, it's prolly related to that.

Confirmed.

A friend of mine had the exact same problem. He called me on the phone for help, but sadly there was nothing i could do for him. :-(

At first he couldn't enter the lava. ("You can't.") Maybe he wore the gothic boots, he had found one gothic item, but we discussed knockback, so probably he didn't even wear it. Does lava slow you down so the gothic boots imobilize you when you try to walk on it?!

He also then did a rocketjump, catapulting him next to the wall.  From there he couldn't get back onto the islands anymore, even tried a normal rocket against the wall. Unable to jump downward again, he was obviously doomed to starve in the lava as soon as the envirosuit would wear out (No phase devices were accesible at the time either). Desperately he reached some more enemies and leveled up for the last time. So he became a fireangel went of in a thermonuclear blast.

I will ask him to post for the mortem if it helps. And the story isn't so sad, because one day later he called to announce his first killing of the cyberdemon.
