Tips on improving doom rl skill?

Angles of death:
I'm playing on hey not too rough [i always play on hntr]And i keep on getting OWNED by former Sargent's on level 2 please tell me how to improve my skill.

Belive me or not but i said that doomprayer thing and found a red armour on level 4! wish me luck
