"You have my apologies, then. A regrettable accident, as I have said," the Gith replied with a shrug. "You would know my purpose here? Very well. A group of creatures calling themselves the Red Hand of Doom have grown too strong, and now are upsetting the great balance. Know that I have taken it upon myself to... reduce their power," Inatai explained.

"You've asked your questions, now answer mine. I would know what you do. Who are you, and what do you here?" he asked, his voice growing perhaps slightly colder than before.

Graven nodded at the response.
- "I suppose it's only fair to explain ourselves. We are a group of... adventurers for lack of better term who responded to summons from nearby place called Overlook. While on route there we stopped at a tavern in city of Brindol. It so happened to be that the same band of goblinoids you mentioned - or at least a band of goblinoids pretending to that name, since the original one supposedly got vanquished years ago - decided to raid the city. We got involved in repelling some of their forces, and since we were on site the council of Brindol decided to take a gamble and hire us to rescue people that got kidnapped during the raid as well as to recover some important items that were stolen. That about sums it up."

'That pretty much sums it up' added Karan, eyeing the assassin with more curiosity that mistrust. 'Well, I am Karan' she introduce herself, before continuing with a barrage of questions. 'Githrazei... well, now I remember... we had someone similar to you in Adieu's mercenary band' she paused, trying to remember something. 'But he called himself by a bit different name... he said he is of "Githyanki" people or something along those lines. I assume that it is just a different name for your kind?'

Inatai tensed up, as though the statement stuck a nerve. He turned all the way to look at Karan with a cold glare. "It is not. They are anathema to all the People stand for. Know this well and do not mention the traitor's breed again," he said, his voice a hiss, quite different from the level tone of earlier.

He regained his composure quickly enough, however, and turned back to Graven. "It would seem your actions, while not directly aimed at weakening the Red Hand of Doom, will achieve that goal all the same. If I may, it would serve both our ends if I accompanied you for a time."

- "As far as I'm concerned it might indeed be a good idea" - Graven replied after a bit of a pause - "If what you speak is true it indeed might be beneficial for all of us. But... know I am going to keep my eye on you. While you did help us in the fight here, and you say you're after similar goals, I'm not the one to judge just by that. Time and your actions will tell."

Graven turned to Karan - "In the meantime - Karan, how about we see if we can open that door?"

'As you wish' murmured Karan, grabbing her blade and smashing it with full force onto the stone door.

Opening a sword with a fullblade isn't how it's normally done. But it appeared to do the job. There was a minor collapse in the ceiling, but the rubble that fell quickly spread out. You would still be able to make it through the opening into the corridor beyond, but the taller members of the party would need to stoop, and it would be careful going.

Karan drew a deep breath, and sheathed her weapon.

'Was not as sturdy as I thought it would be. Let's go.'

Thanks to her small frame, she squeezed past the rubble without any trouble.

The corridor ended in a sharp left, and some marbled step leading downwards. They were badly worn, and your group waited for Adis to come up and shed some light on the situation. The room beyond was spare, and very utilitarian. To be exact, it was a jail or sorts.

A cautious advance down the stairs reveals a definite lack of anything in the room besides some crumpled skeletons. Once you reach the landing though, a voice reaches your ears.

"Ah, at last. Some friendly faces. Or at least a change of scenery if you're working for these goblins."

The voice is coming from the jail cell on the right, which contains a few skeletons and a well built - if somewhat aged - man. His face is bruised in many places, but his posture is still good. A quick glance at his clothes and build indicates that he's from the local area at the least. He looks at your band questioningly, perhaps to see your intentions.

- "Before we answer your question, can you tell us who are you?" - Graven asked.

The man's brow creases and his eyes narrow. "Well, you're not with the goblins, that's for sure. They heard Mirtala call me by name. I see. Well, I don't really have many options, being stuck in a cage. My friends call me Sertanian. I hope that I could call you friends."

Warforged nodded his head - "Well you can call us 'rescue party' for now. We'll get you out of there as soon as we find some sort of a key." - Graven started to look around to see if there was one lying around in the room - "Do you know anything about the others? We were told there are more people that got captured."

'Sertanin... well, then, if it is really you, then you and we are really lucky' states Karan, smiling faintly. 'Warforged, he was the man he were sent to save for the museum... Castellan of the Hall as far as I remember.'

Not speaking anything more, Karan inspects the cell door closely.
