"The battle goes well, comrades. Duplicity on the battlefield cannot overcome us. Press on!" Saliak spared a grim look for the green creature who had earlier sunk a blade into his flesh. The best way to deal with a lack of honor in his limited experience with it, was flame. He swung his hammer in an odd fashion in the air, and struck the ground.

The creatures screamed as the flames overtook them, two of them collapsing to the ground moments later. This left only one pike-goblin and one of the green creatures still standing. The green one, at least, seemed determined to leave a mark, its blows finally finding a chink in Tristan's armour.

Aden notices that's he's claimed one, and then that the enemy is few in number. "Beautiful, we're almost done here." He moves next to the sneak, and attempts to land a strike, and maybe even inspire Saliak to attempt another one. Sadly, it seems unlikely.

This was the second time today Ma'kirr found herself looking at the ceiling thus making her doubly mad. With her body rapidly mending self with the help of her companions, she sprang back to her feet once more. Lashing out with her spear she knocked over the nearest goblin and proceeded to beat-the-crrrap of him.

((Tristan's Turn))

Seeing Ma'kirr fall for a second time brought worry to Tristan's face. Unfortunately that moment of worry cost him a hit from the nearby goblin. Whirling around he struck it swiftly across the face.

While Tristan quickly and cleanly dispatched the smelly green creature, Ma'kirr's target was dead by the time it hit the ground... not that it seemed to stop her from heaping more punishment upon it.

In the end, all that remained on the stairs were a few battered and discarded weapons, and more of the glowing spheres of light, yellow and green this time. And the persistent smell of those green goblins.

With a deep breath Ma'kirr relaxed her form. The fur on her body quickly shed off like snow falling from a tree. Noting a new color of remains, she quickly plced one in her pack before taking a rest by the window.

With a soft sigh, and Dragonborn settled on his haunches and inspected his shield, tracing a claw along the runes. After several circuits around the shield, the edge was emanating a golden glow, nearly the same color as his scales. "Well fought, comrades. The smell might not be the most pleasant, but I suggest we take a moment to rest ourselves." Standing up, he walks to where Ma'kirr is recovering near the window, whispering with the intent that only she hear: "Perhaps you shouldn't let your head get ahead of you. You fight with honor, but there is honor in letting others assist you as well."

Aden sat down by a statue. "Finally! Those goblins had some real tricks up their sleeves, didn't they? But I showed that one sneak, oh yes. Hell, ALL of you did a good job. Let's continue resting and be on our way."

"Ill keep that in mind Saliak. However what annoys me most is their inclination to lay you flat when they attack you. Smug little bastards."

Tristan finished his prayer, and sat down on the floor, accompanied by loud, metallic sound.

'Feline Lady! You should not endanger yourself so much! Rely on my help, for it is painful to see you wounded!'

"Oye, Knight Boy. Knock it off with the feline lady crap. In the first place I am most definitely not a 'Lady' and second of all all you whining about my well being doesn't sound sincere at all. In fact you sound like a little boy whos just found his first sweetheart. I'll even bet money you're a virgin." she snapped. Rubbing her forehead, Ma'kirr heaved herself up and went to scout ahead.

Once Ma'kirr had scouted out up ahead and reported back that the stairs looked clear, you pressed on upwards.

The rest of the climb was rather uneventful, if tiresome. Eventually, though, you reached the top of the stairs, coming out into a high hallway. There were no fire bowls or braziers to shed light here, leaving most of the place shrouded in darkness. You could just make out a second stairwell across the hall from you, heading down, though no telling where it went. Immediately to the right, though, the hallway opened up into a vaulted circular chamber, ringed with pillars, with a shallow water-filled pit in the middle. On the far end of the chamber was an open balcony - the only source of light here, though with the storm brewing outside that light was barely enough to let you see the room. Heavy dark-red curtains hung down on either side of the chamber, no doubt blocking off additional balconies.

You weren't quite alone here, though. Standing in front of the balcony doorway was a man - or at least it looked like a man at first glance, clad in plate armour, with a large halberd clasped in one hand. Quite a tall and imposing figure... and one aware of your presence. As soon as you all had climbed the last stair, he turned around to face you. You could just make out two faint points of white light shining under his helmet.

"So... you are the would be heroes? You have been quite the thorn. Still, if you turn back now, you may get to keep your heads... for a time," he said, his voice hollow and grating to the ears.

- Heroes? Nah, we're just sightseeing through your tower Mr. Overlord. Can I get your autograph? It should sell well in Underdark.
