Almost the same here ...I owe both 3&4, but haven't touched them (only once I played civ 3 demo for an hour, so it doesn't count :P ).

Yes I did beat both Civ1 and Civ2, albeit on low difficulty level (third lowest IIRC). I don't like dirty tricks Civs encourage, so I have to win only fair and square. Still, diplomacy, as in Civ3 so far, helps greatly.
