Before him 444 brave souls have ventured into Phobos:
 403 of those were killed.
2 of those were killed by something unknown.
11 didn't read the thermonuclear bomb manual.
And 10 couldn't handle the stress and committed a stupid suicide.

Some rumours though, say that the Cyberdemon was killed already!
Is he immortal? 18 souls claim to have killed him...
1 sacrificed itself for the good of mankind.
17 killed the bastard and survived.

Wow, I'm still sweating after this run!

I must have died 50 times going for this badge.  Frankly if it weren't for Intuition 2 I don't think I could have pulled it off.  If you don't know where the enemies are grouped then WHAM - you're dead in one turn.

I had to move... so.... slowly... to keep myself from double-tapping keys (which usually results in death) and from accidentally not noticing enemies respawning behind me.  I had so many close calls that I can't possibly remember them all.  The most drawn-out, though, was Phobos Hell Level 8.  It was a cave of Pain Elementals, and I was nearly out of ammunition.  No shells, a few rockets, and dwindling supplies of bullets and power cells.  I was forced to whip out the BFG twice to keep from being overrun.  Thankfully some Arachnotrons donated their precious cells to my cause on level 9.

Kg:
Damn, '1 John Carmack' is epic win.

Game Hunter:
What's really awesome about this run is this:

We don't have a lot of those. Arguably, Destroyer Diamond is the easiest badge to attempt (I mean really, what's a little more HP and DR going to help against the monster speed buff, anyway?) in spite of its extreme difficulty. That you managed to pull a full win out of it, AND without MAc is...

Damn, I think we have a new winner to the "just blew my mind" contest*. Some people consider some of my wins epic 'cause of all the items and the resulting awesomeness, but, truly, a win completed in this manner without any special equipment at ALL in much more amazing in my book.

Honestly man, what the hell...I feel like a chump now, using MAc. Now I have to go back and do it again.

* not an actual contest

thelaptop:
Damnit!  Double Diamonds?!

We need a new medal for these kinds of achievements, Kornel!  ;-)

That said, there looks like a bug: isn't Veteran Platinum only for full-win on Ultra-Violence?  If so, why is it being awarded here?

Game Hunter:
Because there isn't much of a difference between between a full win on UV and on N!, except that full N! is much harder to pull off. It's the same reason you can get Veteran Bronze/Silver/Gold for a 100% UV game, or most Angel-related Silver/Gold badges.

Sorry, what I meant to say is that Veteran Diamond is the rare one. Veteran Platinum is still hard, but only as hard as doing well in UV and getting lucky enough for the invincibility on floor 24.
