Note that
1) Aspect ratio is 2.35:1, the one used in cinemas
2) Zodd in the second trailer looks about the same as the screen cap seen in http://www.animenation.net/blog/2009/08/18/ask-john-is-new-berserk-anime-in-production/

It seems that it's been in production for a while now, a couple years perhaps. Whether it's a new series or a movie, either way it looks really high quality.
