That was a point I wanted to make, but then I realised that the stuff that Linux has for sound might not be readily available on Windows (ALSA, Timidity++ etc).

Moonrise: I seriously suggest that you PM Kornel to double check these things instead of just leaving a teaser line here.  It will definitely be more useful for you, should you really want to use Valkyrie.
