AoPc just found it's new best friend.
Unfortunately, you can't fire anything in AoPc.

I know, because I'm one of the few people who picked up the Combat Translocator and went "OMG I can shift mobs away!"

Except it wasn't meant to be...

That's sort of why it's in Horrible Ideas and not in New Weapons. The only times it would be useful are:

Angel of Pacifism (Can't use any weaponry there, including minimal-damage ones)
Unholy Cathedral (Can only use melee weapons there)
Subbosses (Okay, yeah, it's useful there)
Cyberdemon (By this point, you may as well just kill him rather than stunning him)

The sequel to DoomRL is announced to be DoomIRL. Permadeath takes on a whole new meaning and the graphics have never been more ultra realistic.  Unfortunately the game could not be made turn based, citing 'inability to manipulate the fabric of spacetime'. Space flight and Doomguy suit included in the $1,000,000 dollar package.

Trash Medals. Awarded for doing extremely foolish and downright shameful things.

Turd on a Stick - Awarded when getting killed on dlvl1 at itytd or hntr.
Big Red Button trophy - Awarded for getting killed as a result of pulling the wrong lever in a state of Denmark level. "They told me I shouldn't press that nice juicy looking button, but I just HAD to do it... :("
Avarice medal - Awarded for getting killed with over 5 large meds in your inventory.
Molten tin soldier - Awarded for getting severly hurt or killed as a result of aiming a rev launcher or bfg10k at a square just next to you, with the intention of just shooting in a certain direction.
Golden bomb belt - Awarded for killing yourself with a nuke or angel arm on a level other than 25 and 26 without invunerability.

More Trash Medals:
Headshotted: 98%+ damage received in one turn
Headshotted Twice: 198%+ damage received in one turn
Cause and Effect: Shot a barrel right next to you
Cause and Effect Redux: Shot a barrel right next to you, and was also in range of 2 other barrels next to you
Poor Route Planning: Envirosuit runs out while surrounded on all tiles by lava and/or acid
Cocky: Die while berzerked
Almost Doesn't Count: Die with a consumable or powerup on the ground 0-1 tiles from you
Almost Doesn't Count Redux: Die 1 tile from a megasphere
Listen To Yourself: pull a lever marked as 'harmful' by intuition
Because You Can: Punch every boss with your fists.

Got Headshotted in the turn in which I large medpacked myself in the Mortuary
Got Poor Route Planning and died from it in the Lava Pits while carrying a HPD
Definitely got Almost Doesn't Count a few times
Because You Can's an achievement, not a trash medal...

In terms of new horrible ideas:

Angel of Explodium
Good news: You start with a fully loaded missile launcher and 24 rockets rather than a pistol and 24 bullets.
Bad news: All formers of any stripe have their weapons replaced with some form of rocket launcher. FHum gets microlauncher, FSer gets the original, FCap gets the tactical launcher and FCom a T3/B2 missile launcher. Also, every level is "Khe he he, this will be a mess..." including the special levels, the Hellgate, Phobos Arena etc.

If items were indestructible, that idea would be... well, actually, horrible in a completely different (but much more fun to play :) way.

Yeah, it is more of an achievement, I just think it's hilarious to think of a doomguy's judgement lapsing, waltzing right up to a boss and punching him a few times :P

Corollary to angel of explodium + indestructible items - how about explosive items?

Angel of Revenge

You can't actively attack, but you automaticly counter-attack back with your current weapon if hit by an enemy.

In this mode, it's truly a roguelike -- you can only tell that there is something on the ground, but you don't know what it is.

And you can tell something is after you, but you don't know what it is that is attacking you...

Oh geez, the number of these that I'd have would be downright shameful, I'm sure.

Dr. Strangelove Badge: Died to a nuke playing Angel of Impatience
Trophy of Clumsiness: Died on a floor that had already been cleared

Did the second one once when I flooded the level with lava.

Another time in an earlier version I pulled a lever to try an heal myself, but it set off all the barrals on the level including two in the small room I was in.(I had shoved them as far away as I could but the room was small enough I was still fried in the blasts.)
