Admittedly, there is a small split-second gap at the very end of the MP3 version that prevents it from looping perfectly. The OGG and FLAC versions seem to be unaffected. I'm not sure what to do with this, except joining the "bleh, MP3" choir in the back row right over there. Perhaps i am going to release an "album" version someday that will feature seamless looping, extended length and a proper fade-out. Someday.
Okay, so here is what I think happened.  The mp3 format has a bit reservoir, and there's a buffer of bits that are unused by default.  That's why true "gapless" playing is notorious, since there's always that spare bit capacity that needs to be flushed out.  Depending on the audio player used, you may have an option of "gapless" playback that you can use to get the nice loop.

Simon-v, I highly recommend that you make two versions of your music, namely the "studio cut" and the "game version".  We will use the "game version" in-game, and compile the "studio cut" stuff to make into a DoomRL album of some sort.  I think it'll be an awesome idea; in fact, if you follow MSPaintAdventures, you'll see that they have done something similar, releasing the tracks they used in the animations (and not).

If you are willing, maybe you can contribute some of the proceeds of the sale to ChaosForge itself too!  =P

For some reason, high quality sounds are a real bitch to find without spending gazillions of bucks. :|

Hell's Weapons (Song)

Several A few One month in the making.

Seven Three Four Twenty (!) discarded drafts.

Many hours of tweaks and fixes.

Two hold-backs for further refinement.

Slightly under two three a half minutes long.

One Two Three copy-pastes. (See above.)

Simon the wannabe composer presents:

My misplaced attempt at the Hell's Weapons Hell's Armory Theme Song

(More details are to be found in the first post).

Go ahead and tell me it sucks. Ha!

I was expecting more...foundry-like stuff for some reason. Not that an armory is necessarily like a foundry, or that there is any production even going on in the level. Your UC and HF songs provided the right atmosphere for each level, but I'm not so sure this one will do the same.

That said, I do like the song, it's quite reminiscent of Map09 in Doom II. Already have it in my music.ini.

(More details are to be found in the first post).

This is a more ambient track than usual, and as such might not seem very interesting. This is intended, and i assure you that it fits the level pretty well and is at least not annoying to listen to.

Go ahead and tell me it sucks. Ha!

It sucks.

All joking aside this is far from your best work, I find it much repetitive.

Should have mentioned i was going for something more dark and ambient than usual. Would be more fair too -- at least then people would know what to expect when listening to it for the first time. Actually, it's not too late to do that now.

True, it's repetitive, but then most music put together for games is, unless there's a boss fight or something big story development.

That said, I think it's very fitting for the level. :)
