It's really a pretty good song, but it feels... I don't know. Maybe like it would fit someplace other than the Lava Pits better. It's got a feeling of foreboding build-up to even worse things to come.

I like it. It's got that Doom-like feel and sounds pretty final-boss-y aside.

It does sound like Doom meets Castlevania. In other words, 100% fitting for the Unholy Cathedral.

It's kinda eerie, which made me think of the mortuary more than the lava pits. The foreboding feeling strikes me as appropriate given how close to L25 the pits spawn. The tension is good. I'd say it was fine.

Suffice to say that i have other plans for the Mortuary.

Being unsatisfied with how it sounded, i took the liberty to rewrite parts of the theme song, trying to make it excite me.

I was sort of successful.

The song is now officially at version 2. Preview and re-download if necessary.

I actually preferred the previous version.  It felt like a great 'game over' music, which is correct most times I'm at the title screen.

Reminds me of the MAP08 music in TNT Evilution. Was it an inspiration for this piece?

As far as I remember I did link MAP08 music from Evilution when Simon was doing this song and I think he did mention it inspired him some.

Something Wicked (Song)

Several months in the... Oh, come on, this joke has run long enough.

I hereby present my misplaced attempt at the theme for the Mortuary, aptly named Something Wicked (i laughed my ass off when i thought of that) for what happens to be peer review.

Of exactly one person.

(More details are to be found in the first post).

If you think it sucks, or that it's good but doesn't fit the level, you are welcome to grab yourself a copy of Sonic Mayhem's Descent Into Cerberon, which even i find difficult to compete with, and use that instead.

Of Skull And Bone (Song)

Without the usual long preambles (see previous posts if you'd like to see what they were like), i present my misplaced attempt at the theme for the City of Skulls, aptly named Of Skull And Bone for what happens to be peer review.

Of exactly one person.

Excellent job on this one; it's my favorite so far. The beginning is very tense, and the baseline is quite catchy. Very fitting for the City of Skulls.

It's good. Very, very good. It reminds me of Blood, which is also a good thing.
