Ignore threads?
« on: November 11, 2010, 16:46 »

So, y'see... I check new posts by looking at the recent posts section at the bottom of the page, which is handy.

However, these days there's so much PBF'ing going on in here, and since I personally have no interest in that, the recent posts section with new posts in any PBF thread really just seem like a mailbox full of junk to me. I have to put effort each time in distinguishing the PBF threads from the threads of actual potential interest, and this is kinda annoying.
Plus, this could also be handy for those who aren't interested in rather spammy threads like "now playing" and all that.

So I'm asking, could there possibly be a feature added to the forum which allows a user to ignore threads?
If it's ok, I guess this could help:

Tried to install it, but it won't go smoothly on CF's modified SMF installation. If there are more people wanting it, I'll take another look and probably install it manually.

That'd be handy.

Useful but uncritical.  I just click through them without caring too much.  Also I use "Show unread posts since last visit.", which is a nicer way of looking at posts, returning to the longer form only to look up an older post.

Not critical, sure, but it's a usability improvement, especially so in conjunction with "Show unread posts...".

So. People seem to agree with the idea. Is it gonna be installed?

The main problem is that custom adaptations have been done to the coding of the forum (like mortem tags) so normal scripts and whatnot aren't so easy to install. It's on the list of things to do. No timeline for completion at the moment, though.
