So here I am, merrily chugging along in my first Ao100 attempt, plowing through with ammochain and a delightful assortment of uniques like Hellstaff and Necroarmor. Can't possibly lose right? Hmmm, valuable item on this level huh? Lookie an invuln sphere and I'm carrying a nuke. ...BOOOM. Ah theres the unique. BFG10K! Awesome! Now I can blast the shit out of the level without even looking at shit! This'll speed things up. Lets make a test shot. I'll just point it up and to my left a bit, nothing here to hit anyways in a nuked level. BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM you have died. Apparently that thing can't be fired off into the distance like a rocket launcher. Either that or it hit an invisible wall. /cry

All the more reason to be careful with weapons you don't yet understand. The BFG10K acts similarly to the BFG9000 in that it lands precisely where you tell it to, and similar to the rocket launcher in that the splash damage can also hurt you. It's actually quite the dangerous weapon: in addition to the above, there's a bit of a recoil effect on it and the location will sometimes move around, like you're having trouble aiming properly from all the momentum.

This is also why I tend not to half-ass my aiming in general. Quick shortcuts in actions can cause some unintended consequences certain...unique situations.

That's a real shame, too, because BFG10K falls under the category of rapid-fire. You would have had infinite ammo with it (just like in my N! Ao100 run).

I know your pain, quite well actually. I saw this post and remembered, "Hey, the same thing happened to me". It took me a bit to find the mortem, but I remember it well because I killed myself on level 100. Other then that level I had 100% kills too. So I wouldn't feel too bad about it, 'cause everyone is doing it (at least the cool kids are).
