well, I got a "full win", but didn't survive - I needed to preserve my 100% kills, so a nuke was the only option.  Found my first homing phase that hadn't been used by my foes on floor 23 along with the invuln, so I grabbed it, walked down, and nuked thrice.  And here I thought I was being silly by collecting so many nukes.

Once I got out of the beginning phases of the game things got a lot easier - I think this was my second UV run that passed floor 5 or 6. The other one died on floor 16 by shooting walls instead of the enemy, or healing (not paying attention to the firing line).  Juggler makes the beginning (& HA) so much easier, especially if the combat shotgun is not appearing.  In the midgame (pre-MAc) it lets you use the plasma when you need it and only when you need it.  in the end game - well, free switches to BFG or rockets.

almost had enough time on the counter at the end - maybe if I'd kept a chaingun to go fire-reload-fire-reload instead of walking around to kill time it would have lasted long enough.

Holy crap. 3 1/2 hours? Must have been a very careful run.

Nicely done, though. That's a fun collection of badges.

Hopefully this should explain why you didn't get the UV Plat: its hypothesis is only strengthened by your result.

Using a reload to race for a nuke-splosion is certainly a step in the right direction. It doesn't appear to have been enough in this case (with three actions remaining): in addition, chaingun's going to be affected by MAc just as much as the plasma rifle is. A better option is to unload/reload constantly (1/2.5 for the rifle, 1/3 for the chaingun), circumventing any Finesse/T-mod bonuses, assuming you have room to move around the ammo. Note that this technique will also work on MAc as long as you have some ammo to feed the weapon.

More importantly, I hope you were running for the stairs before and after Cybie. Running is known to help reduce invulnerability drain, and certainly getting more running from med-packs is worth it in that situation.

Still, bravo on your complete destruction of ultra-violent Hell. Getting MAc immediately isn't too important on UV, if only because you'll be given a ludicrous amount of bullets to cover your ass for a long while: this is especially true for a YAAM attempt, since you're guaranteed MAc soon enough. Were this any other difficulty, I'd likely opt for the level 7 MAc: N! requires enough luck for the combat shotty anyway, and everything easier doesn't give you the same wiggle room before you really need the plasma.

It looks as though you had enough for Lava Pits. Didn't wanna risk it? (Incidentally, UV The Wall is tense as hell, and I always like to test myself there. Don't do N! The Wall, though, it's almost never worth it.)

Holy crap. 3 1/2 hours? Must have been a very careful run.
more of a run that I took breaks from - though I am generally slow to try to increase caution, doesn't always work.  if I ever see an Ao100 completion I'm sure the run time will be 3-4 days at the least.

Using a reload to race for a nuke-splosion is certainly a step in the right direction. It doesn't appear to have been enough in this case (with three actions remaining): in addition, chaingun's going to be affected by MAc just as much as the plasma rifle is. right, I forgot fire-reload chaingun wouldn't work.  the BFG would.  load-unload is definitely better, I'll keep it in mind.  It would be more than 3 actions worth though - almost the entire countdown on floor 24 was available.

More importantly, I hope you were running for the stairs before and after Cybie. Running is known to help reduce invulnerability drain, and certainly getting more running from med-packs is worth it in that situation.
No, I wasn't - I didn't know that about running, so I just assumed it would be wasting actions to save seconds, when I want to waste seconds to save actions.

It looks as though you had enough for Lava Pits. Didn't wanna risk it? (Incidentally, UV The Wall is tense as hell, and I always like to test myself there. Don't do N! The Wall, though, it's almost never worth it.)
Lava Pits wasn't an option, since my Globe was on floor 23.  Before I realized that I could nuke 24-26, I was thinking of nuking lava pits :).  I will try UV the Wall in the future, the Arch-viles there frighten me.
