Request: Confirm Dropping your Weapon
« on: February 09, 2011, 11:39 »

I think this would stop several YASDs due to dropping your gun at a critical moment because your finger went one key to the left when you meant to shoot.

The third letter in the YASD is there for a reason. And I suppose that dropping the gun isn't the case of most deaths.

Remap the dropping weapon to "D" and dropping armor to "G".

Problems solved.

I died once due to hitting "d" instead of "f", and twice was very close.
That feels very roleplaying, as once I panicked, and another time I was too relaxed.
I'm against the confirmation - it adds another tone to a game atmosphere.

I'm not taking sides here, but dying due to a metagame mistake like hitting the wrong key is about as far from 'roleplaying' as it can get.

I believe it's a gray zone. I felt as if I dropped a weapon in panic.
