I'm in a bit of a state of shock right now...  Since I started playing this game a few months ago, I regarded diamond badges as being impossible to get, but now I've achieved two in the space of a few days!  :o  (Major General skill rank!  Woot!)

The RNG was smiling on me tonight: staircases were close at hand; berserk and invulnerability packs were in all the right places; at one point, I had 8 large med-packs and 4 small ones and nothing to do with them!  (I should've bought a lottery ticket instead of playing DoomRL)  :P

And yes, I entered the mortuary; I had just picked up two consecutive invulnerabilities on the previous level, so I figured I could get away with it and I could use the supercharges, red armours and large med-packs there, not to mention the nuclear BFG which I then used to nuke the next level.  (Oddly, it doesn't show in the mortem that I nuked level 23)  In retrospect, I should've nuked the Mortuary just for the novelty of clearing it in an Angel of Pacifism game.  :P  (Also, I'm only one Arch-Vile short of going up to Arch-Vile experience rank, so that would've put me over the top!)

Oof, I was running AoPc Diamond a little tonight, got a few nearly to Hellgate but too many death-zones to make it through. Congrats, man.

If you're hunting for Diamonds, I'd say the easiest in this version (aside from this) are Berserker, Arena, and Destroyer. Not enough info on Gatekeeper or Speedrunner to tell either way, although I don't think the former should be THAT hard (it's really about killing the Arch-viles before they hit you). Due to the AoD balance, Longinus Diamond is completely different and we're gonna need a new strategy for it.

The proof is that it's the first Diamond I've ever attained!

Yeah, it's kind of funny timing that I'm getting diamond badges now that a new version is coming out and I have to start all over.  :)
