Heyo!  Sorry for not replying to your previous posts -- had been rather busy lately.  I like the latest render, but I'm not sure if the motion blur works as well here.  Maybe have him run and gun and apply the motion blur to give it more dynamism as opposed to just the swinging of hands?

As always though, good work -- I always enjoy seeing the stuff you put out!  =)

Have to agree with you on the motion blur, however it was my first use of the script so I decided to try and keep things simple at first.

Maybe you can include more kungfu-esque posing at some point with the motion blur.  I don't think you've done much of that, and it would be an excellent exercise to understand how to pose humans in more dynamic motion as opposed to your usual stand-and-gun style.  That can improve the quality of renders by giving that extra unconscious boost that the eye sees but the brain cannot quite place.

Besides, DoomGuy gets more badass when he goes through Hell while Ripping and Tearing!  =D

Here's a few of my new ideas, mostly messing around with lighting.

In fact, the last one is hot out of the render engine having be creating just this afternoon.

(P.S. To those here who observe Memorial Day, I hope you had a happy and safe one.)

More grit!  I like!

Always a treat to see what you have in store from the rendering front.  =)

Hmmm... not sure about the pointy-eared goblin face though.  But your shadow work is definitely improving!  =)

I've started to use Image Based Lighting when I'm doing exterior scenes or if my set has windows.

As for the goblin, I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online with my friend lately, and I guess I let it slip into this one like I was doing for a while when the two of us were playing Star Trek Online.

A new set, and a new foe.

I almost feel sorry for our brother in arms.

That cybernetic/robot model looks pretty cool -- it has a very Fallout-esque feel to it.

Have you considered rendering a more complex scene?  You seem to focus heavily on macro shots, maybe something with a larger field might help with training your eye for shadows and posing?

How's this laptop? I used an instance of one of the foes on the ground level which is why they have the same pose.

Ooo definitely a different feel!  Still a little too macro for what I had in mind, but it is definitely more varied than before.  I think you should do more of these types if you can -- really helps with letting you explore more on scene composition.

Here's the result of some experimenting with the use of instances, and lighting. So you know, an instance is basically a clone of the source model. You make a change of any kind to the source, and it reflects on the instance(s).
