The wiki entry for Conqueror says "generated levels include any that require you to take red stairs to reach them". I always figured this meant both special and normal levels. Perhaps only HF is excluded in the requirements?

I may be misinterpreting things though. For instance, I still haven't figured out whether a full win is awarded if you nuke JC and die in the blast.

I was hoping that "red stairs" would be specific enough to mean only stairs that are red, and the only levels you reach when the stairs are red are special levels (one of potentially 11). Phobos Base Entry, Hellgate, Phobos Arena, and HF do not count toward this (and if the stairs leading to HF are red I'll have to fix the wording), nor do any of the typical randomly-generated levels.

If you want a Conqueror badge you need only YAAM stuff like Hell's Arena and Halls of Carnage, but you have to enter every one that shows up.

You get a full win but it doesn't count toward badges. Unfortunately this isn't exactly intuitive, although I feel like it should be written out in big bold letters SOMEWHERE. I dunno.

For now I'll just link (again) to the post where I mention this. (BTW, all of those things are intended and therefore won't be fixed.)

actually, your guide says that as well.

"The Conqueror Badge is the equivalent of gaining both the Explorer Badge, which requires the exploration of all specials, and the Medal of Prejudice, which requires the destruction of every enemy seen."

I believe HF's stairs are not red, though not 100% sure.

This was also before the Conqueror Badge was even attainable (and I think it mentions THAT there, too), so no one could say for sure. 2.0 wrote that out a while back (after I tested this theory), so just wait until it's updated in the thread. It wouldn't hurt to YAAM the entire run, though.
