Yeah, that's what I did on previous tries when I wanted to kill it, and I generally got it down to wounded before it teleported away and healed up before I could find it again.

UltimateChaos:
I'm not convinced it's possible to kill the Shambler with a shotgun.  By the time you get close enough for it to inflict significant damage he's gone and healing up somewhere.

It is possible, but it takes a lot of time. And shells. -.-
