Aa, finally, after a few weeks of grinding, I was able to get that UV win. Now I can rest for a while...
I've been playing nothing but AoMC for a while, which makes all the difference when breaking into higher difficulties.
A quick few notes about the run: After the previous few attempts had ended with my character being killed by hordes of arachnotrons, I decided that I just had to get more levels into ironman earlier. Apparently it paid off. Otherwise I came close to death only a few times, but most notably on the earlier levels when I failed to notice a former captain who blasted away at me for a few rounds and got me to 2%, oh my poor heart.
But otherwise the run was characterized by having plenty of modpacks and a mostly sufficient amount of medpacks. And I'm a bit stingy to use some pickups. Didn't use a single homing device or the hellwave pack still in my inventory. >.< But here's the mortem itself:
