I was more likely to take an extra step or two to kill a mob if it was worth decent xp since they usually hurt more and I needed to try to stay berserked. Even so I still lost it a bit more then I'm used to.

Pretty much my thoughts too. Even though I suspected it was possible I was still very shocked to pull it off.
