[0.9.9.4] No player stats?
« on: September 27, 2011, 12:10 »

I'm running the win version of DoomRL (v.0.9.9.4), on a Win7 desktop (64-bit).

I've played a few levels and killed lots of enemies. Each time I save ('S') at the top of some stairs to save the game. But when I go to "Show player" on the main menu, there are no stats except for time played. Nothing under "All kills", and no kills listed on the next page.

Is this normal? Do stats not kick in until you actually complete a game? I've looked for a setting in config.lua to turn on stats, but I can't find it. (MortemArchive = true, but this shouldn't matter)

This probably isn't a bug report, just a report of my own ignorance, but I didn't know where else to put it after searching the forums.

That's correct: you'll need the mortem to actually appear for you in-game before any of the stats are taken into account. (I don't think the mortem showing up is what saves the stats but it's a sufficient indicator.) Assemblies MIGHT be the exception to this rule, as schematics would otherwise be useless during the very same game in which you were given one.

Also, welcome to the forums!

Thanks, that was very helpful. I couldn't find this info in the docs, so I thought I'd ask.
