And the diamonds just keep coming!  Woot!  :D  (And this time, I was wise enough to *not* enter the Mortuary)  ;)

This one had too many close calls to count!  I finished several levels with less than ten seconds left in the nuke.  In fact, in Hell's Arena and Hell's Armory, I reached the stairs with one second on the clock!  :o

Notes on this run:

I took a big risk in summoning the Shambler in Hell's Armory, but I had acquired Malicious Blades trait and assembled my first Chainsword by then, and fortunately, he didn't teleport around *too* much, so I was able to kill him.  (Just in time!)  :D

I used the Azrael's Scythe's Whisper of Death attack once in the City of Skulls to clear the area of Lost Souls that were threatening to overwhelm me.

I held on to a suit of agility-modded green armour for the whole game before I was able to turn it into tactical armour on level 19, only to lose it three levels later to a Baron of Hell and Arch-Vile barrage.  (Grrr!)

The last two levels before Cybie were the most tense...

Level 23 featured a frustrating group of Arch-Viles that kept raising creatures faster than I could destroy them.  It took a lot of time to make even small advances, so when I was close to running out of time, I got desperate and just charged into the crowd and took my chances.  I burned through all my med-packs, but I succeeded.  I actually used two homing phase devices on that level, one to get me out of a tight spot where I was surrounded, and the other to get me to the exit at the end.  (With less than ten seconds on the clock)

Level 24 "blasted me with unholy atmosphere," so I kind of had a double countdown.  :)  This problem was compounded by the fact that I had no med-packs and the only source of healing I found was a small healing globe.  I finished with 41% health left and fully intended to nuke Cybie for a partial win, but...

On level 25, when I tried to arm the nuke I had been carrying, I was greeted by the message, "Are you out of your mind?"  (I guess you can't place nukes in Angel of Red Alert)  :P  I suppose I could have just waited out the timer on the nuke and gotten a partial win that way...  (for that matter, I could probably just have let him kill me and the nuke would get him that way)  In any case, I decided to take my chances and try to take him out in hand to hand combat.  (After an initial BFG blast)  :)  I took full advantage of my speed and Dodgemaster to dance around him, hitting him with my dual chainswords.  I still got grazed by a few explosions that hit surrounding pillars that brought me down to 28%, but I did it!  I won!  Yay!  :D

It hit me reading this mortem that, unless it doesn't block Trigun nuking, a full win is impossible in AoRA.

Not necessarily...  There's still the Lava Element.  All you have to do is run away from the Cyberdemon for five minutes.  :)
