Two staircases

I was on level 6 on HMP. There were two staircases. Near the white one i took a berserk pak, and went for the other stairs. I cant say exactly what color it was, coz of berserk, but there already was one white, wasnt there ? So i came down the other stairs, and got to the ordinary level 7, only it said "you feel there is something special here".

Is that a hidden area or a bug ?

Yes, one of those staircases would have led to a hidden level.  Red staircases always do, and there's a hidden level every 3-6 dungeon levels.

I think you should learn to read what people say, and not what you think they say.

Okay, on HMP again, level 3, 2 white staircases. Took one and got to level 4.

You could try and use look to see what the game says about them. Maybe one of them is just missing the red color for some reason.

Edit: WHen you look at red staircases the text is always "Stairs leading to [special level name]" and normal stairs are always "down stairs"
