So this game started out pretty normally for me. Except I took brute. I don't know what to say, really. Almost died a couple of times when my berserk just wouldn't kick in.
Full Angelic is pretty badass though, I have to admit. I never even felt tempted to take it off. I actually had necroarmor right before I fought the AoD, but never really wore it. Also built a double chainsaw. That's what the wizkid was for. Should have put it into dodgemaster, intuition, or ironman. Carrying around a bunch of knives for throwing was funny, too. It worked better than I expected it to.
Turns out that you can basically tank the entire mortuary once you're berserk. I was having a lot of trouble with Archviles and their packs immediately prior to that too, with several near misses, and the loss of my Tactical armor, but the difference was berserk. Once I had it I was set.
An interesting thing to note is that I did the Arena without a combat knife. The only weapons I used were shotguns. It went surprisingly well.
