This Angel of Marksmanship should have been a win, if only I hadn't stupidly run out of bullets with the Cyberdemon down to only 'heavily wounded'.
It didn't help that practically no ammo spawned in Phobos Hell, but I've come to expect that. No, what really made this a stupid death was level 24, which was one of those warehouse levels with 3 large rooms and a couple of smaller ones. I started in the left room, explored that room almost completely, then started to attack the center room full of two arch-vile/baron packs. A Bulletdance build is incredibly powerful in terms of raw damage -- by this point, I was killing viles in two or three six-bullet-bursts. The problem was that by the time I dealt with both viles on this floor, I was down to something like 50 bullets, and still no stairs. So of course I finally find them tucked away in the corner of that first room, in one of the two tiles I neglected to uncover in my first pass through the room.
If I had just explored that first room fully when I started level 24, I would have had plenty of ammo left for the Cyberdemon, and would have won the game easily.
Sigh.
